Homebuyers Can Access All Project Details With QR Code
MahaRERA's Initiative To Ensure Transparency
Homebuyers will soon be able to access all relevant project details by just scanning a QR code on the project registration certificates.
The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has started assigning QR codes to the registration certificates of developers across the state. The process has already commenced with a project registered in Pune’s Wagholi area.
“The QR code can be scanned using smartphones and the basic details of each project will be immediately available. People will also be able to see if there are any complaints registered against the project,” said the senior MahaRERA official.
“As per RERA norms, it is mandatory for developers to provide updated information on the progress of construction (every quarter) and finances (every half-yearly period),” said the official State Credai president Sunil Furde praised the QR code initiative. Ramesh Prabhu, the chairman of the Maharashtra Society Welfare Association, said the same should be made available by the promoters in their brochures too. “The authority should issue an order to display the QR code in all promoter materials,” he said. “We expect the authority to take proactive steps for stalled projects too,” Prabhu added.
